Medications are NOT
phoned in during non-business hours (evenings
and weekends) by any of the staff nor the physician on
call.
You are encouraged to discuss your medication needs at the
time of your office visit with the physician or physician’s
assistant and obtain necessary prescriptions at that time.
Calling
for a Prescription Refill?
Requests for prescription refills
should be left on the nurses voicemail line.
You must include
all of the information for each prescription:
- The name of the medication
- The dosage
- The number of times a day that you take it
- Your pharmacy name and phone number
- Name of the original prescribing physician
Allow Enough Time for Processing of Refills
Your request will be given to the physician and processed
within two business days.
Because of the processing time, you will need to plan ahead
and call for refills BEFORE your prescription has run out.
You will not receive a return phone call unless your request
requires further discussion.
Some Prescriptions Cannot Be Phoned
Certain medications cannot be phoned in to your pharmacy
and require a handwritten prescription.
You will need to allow enough time to pick up your prescription
slip at the office, or recieve it via mail.
