The Neurosurgery Group forms Affiliation with West Penn Allegheny Health System - December 17, 2007

Effective January 1, 2008, The Neurosurgery Group of Western Pennsylvania will form a strategic alliance with the West Penn Allegheny General Health System. Dr. Bonaroti, Dr. Ferraro, Dr. Ragoowansi, and Dr. Senter will become members of the Allegheny Specialty Practice Network, a multi-specialty practice of over 300 specialists. Under the direction of Dr. Jack Wilberger, Chairman of the Allegheny General Department of Neurosurgery, these surgeons will join 16 other neurosurgeons in providing neurosurgical care at tertiary centers within the system, as well as in a number of community hospitals.

These doctors will continue to provide service at all the office locations and hospitals that they currently service, but will extend their service area to include Forbes Regional Hospital, West Penn Hospital, and Alle-Kiski Medical Center.

According to Dr. Bonaroti, this strategic alliance will enhance our patients’ access to state-of-the-art technological advances, and also access to other surgeons within the department with areas of super-specialization.
